Two presidency sources on Tuesday said President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to fly home from UK and arrive in Nigeria on Saturday.
This is as Aisha Buhari, wife of the president, who returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom on Tuesday where she went to see her ailing husband, said Buhari is recuperating fast and will be back home soon.
She equally relayed her husband’s gratitude to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who, she said, was lauded by the president for remaining loyal to the course of governance in the country especially the mandate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Aisha Buhari recently traveled to London where she went to visit her husband who, the presidency said went to UK for follow-up tests.
Officials have refused to disclose details of his medical condition.
She said these in a statement issued on Tuesday by Suleiman Haruna, her media aide.
Aisha said President Buhari also lauded Nigerians for remaining strong in the face of challenges, while calling on support for Federal Government in implementing the agenda for which they were elected.
“Mr. President thanked the acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, for his loyalty and called on Nigerians to continue to support the acting president in his effort to actualise the mandate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Mrs. Buhari on arrival conveyed the appreciation of the president to Nigerians over their constant prayers and said he will soon be with them as he is recuperating fast.
“Buhari called on Nigerians to continue to be strong in the face of challenges and to support the Federal Government in implementing the agenda for which they were elected”, the statement said.
Buhari left Abuja on May 7 and handed over power to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
